The menopause transition is a time of change, and to be frank, for many women, these changes can be unpleasant.
While symptoms can vary between people – ranging from tinnitus to itchy skin – two of the most common are hot flashes and night sweats.
Affecting almost 70% of women in Europe and the United States, these so-called vasomotor symptoms can be particularly bothersome.
They can interrupt your precious sleep and impact your day-to-day life. And while hormone replacement therapy (HRT) makes a real difference for some people, it doesn’t for others, and not everyone can take these medications.
Importantly, people who experience more vasomotor symptoms may also have a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
